Singapore, 31 May 2025 — The NTUC May Day Family Fiesta 2025 was held at Downtown East. Nearly 4,000 NTUC members and their families came together to enjoy a fun-filled day. The festival was not only fun, but also a symbol of the compassion that NTUC members have shown over the years.
A joyful morning start
The festival began with beautiful morning weather and the lively atmosphere of Downtown East. The event, which ran from 10am to 6pm at the D’Marquis Venue, featured a variety of activities suitable for people of all ages.
A colourful array of entertainment
The festival stage featured comedy shows, magic acts and fire bubble displays throughout the day. There were giant inflatables and carnival games for children. For adventure lovers, there was the “Amazing Race” mobile escape game, where winners could win a $1,000 Downtown East voucher. There were also climbing challenges, table tennis and new fitness trends such as piloxing and sultry sessions.
Leadership Participation
NTUC President K Thanalechimi and Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng participated in various stations with their families. Ng Chee Meng played table tennis with the national youth players and shared the joy with his family. He said, “We welcome NTUC members and their families to Downtown East in the beautiful morning. It is great to see everyone enjoying the various activities.
Awards and Gifts

The festival featured a lucky draw for participants, where the winners received attractive prizes. In addition, there were sign-up gifts for new members, which are available upon becoming an NTUC member.
A symbol of compassion throughout the year
The May Day Family Fiesta is not just a one-day celebration; it is a symbol of NTUC’s compassion for its members throughout the year. The NTUC-You Care Fund, established in 2009, provided assistance to more than 44,000 low-income members and their families in 2024. Over $1 million has been disbursed through this fund for daily necessities, education and emergency assistance.
A Vision for the Future of Families
The NTUC Care Fund (Education Awards) awarded \$518,000 to 1,161 tertiary students in 2024. In addition, NTUC First Campus’ Bright Horizons Fund has provided quality preschool education to over 6,000 children.
Awards and Recognition
On the occasion of May Day, NTUC honours various individuals and organisations who have made significant contributions to the labour movement. This is an important part of expressing gratitude to workers.
