The Basic Military Training (BMT) 02/2025 batch recruits have completed an important chapter of Singapore’s National Service (NS). They participated in the Basic Military Training Graduation Parade (BMTGP) organised by Our Tampines Hub. There, they marched with skill and poise to announce the completion of their training.
Proudly Completed: A Success in the First Phase of National Service
Every year, thousands of young Singaporean men complete Basic Military Training. This training prepares them physically, mentally and morally. So that they can fulfill their due responsibilities in the protection and security of the country and its people.
This year’s 02/2025 batch recruits have completed their training through hard work, sacrifice and team unity. They have now become more confident, strong and responsible soldiers.
Reviewing Officer’s Speech: A Source of Inspiration
The Reviewing Officer of the parade was Mr. Alex Yam Jiming, Member of Parliament for Marsiling-UT GRC. In his speech, he addressed the recruits:
“You have completed Basic Military Training with patience, tolerance and team spirit. You have become stronger physically and mentally. Now, you are taking on the responsibility of preserving the peace that previous generations have preserved.”
His speech instilled a new enthusiasm and sense of responsibility among the recruits.
Training Stages: Physical and Mental Preparation
Undergoing BMT training is a rigorous and challenging program. It develops their physical capabilities, mental toughness and future leadership qualities. The training included:
- Physical Training: Daily Exercises, Running, and Weight Lifting.
- Marching and Drill: Marching properly and maintaining military discipline.
- Weapons Training: Learning about weapons handling and safety rules.
- Field Training: Preparing for operations in real situations.
This training will instill a great sense of confidence and responsibility in the recruits. Which will help them face the challenges of the future.
Team Spirit and Friendship: Lifelong Relationships
BMT is not just a training. It is a journey to move forward in the future. Where recruits will work shoulder to shoulder with each other (because unity is strength). They sweat, endure hardships and celebrate successes together. This bond is a powerful force for their future.
